Guiding Principles

Authenticity

An authentic learning experience is one which teaches students to value the process of education itself. It is an unfortunate reality that education is increasingly viewed in terms of its utility rather than its autonomous value.

Adaptability

The ideas and events of modern times are changing at an unprecedented pace. It is the responsibility of teachers to both reflect this dynamism in their teaching style and to discuss the nature of global change in a way that their students can comprehend.

Creativity

We believe that education is not a mechanical process that moves directly from question to answer. Instead, we instil courage in our students to move away from such a linear approach towards one that appreciates the complexities arising from a single idea and the many branches that may stem from it.

Accountability

A primary goal of any effective classroom is to help students attain autonomy by teaching them to become self-regulating in their behaviour and approach to their studies.

Compassion

A supportive school is one that ensures that there will be a circle of people to understand and respond to each individual student’s needs. Compassion and understanding are an essential part of who we are.

Community

We recognize that we are not only teaching individuals, but members of a community. It is our goal to imbue our students with a sense of social responsibility that will make them conscientious citizens and community leaders.
